What actually happens during a turnover clean?
PadSplit's own move-in fee, which averages around $100, exists specifically to cover getting a room cleaned and ready before a new member arrives. That's the platform itself acknowledging a real reset needs to happen between members, not just a surface tidy.
A full turnover clean covers the room top to bottom: stripping the space of anything the previous member left behind, deep cleaning all surfaces, floors, and fixtures, checking the mattress and furniture for damage, and wiping down walls and baseboards where marks build up over a longer stay.
Do you replace the linens?
PadSplit members typically bring their own sheets and towels rather than the room coming stocked with them, so a turnover clean usually focuses on removing what's left behind rather than restocking new bedding, unless a host specifically stocks a starter set for new members. One exception: the mattress protector. That's a host-provided item and it gets replaced fresh on every single turn, regardless of what the incoming member brings themselves, it's a hygiene basic that shouldn't carry over between members.
Does the lock code get changed at turnover?
For properties with smart locks, yes. Access codes are typically reset between members as a standard part of the turnover, both for security and because the old code shouldn't still work once someone's moved out. It's a small step, but skipping it is a real risk most hosts don't think about until it's a problem.
